When anyone is considering selling a home, they must evaluate several variables in their selling process.

Naturally this includes choosing the right agent. Does this mean that "I" am the right agent? The answer is obviously -- Not Always!

Before choosing an agent, be sure to ask for referrals, this will enhance your ability to know a little more about individual agents above and beyond their presentation which is often rehearsed, and believe it or not, IS in an agents controlled setting, even if it is in your own living room. During this presentation you must ask yourself, can I trust this person with the most valuable asset I have? If you answer is not 100% positive, then it is then time to interview more agents.

Most credible agents do not have an issue with dealing with competition. Our market forces us to compete, first for the exclusive ability to list a home, then to compete for a good market price for a home against a selling agent or buyers agent. Which brings along the question, does the agent have the ability to property market and "SELL or BUY" my home.

The answer to that questions is internal to yourself, but revolves around the agents talent and knowledge of the market you are competing with. Can the agent explain any marketing techniques and their reasoning for their approach? Vague answers are often the result of keeping the competition a step behind them, but at the same time, your questions must be answered in a proper form to make you believe they not only know what they are doing, but that they can and will do all the steps necessary to sell your biggest asset.

Remember, not 2 agents are alike, and no 2 Real Estate Agencies are either. First you must feel as if you trust your agent, and then believe they will take great care in ensuring your biggest asset is their primary concern.
