Updated 2011 Florida School Rankings

These 2011 rankings were based on FCAT scores and due to the scores, all schools were given a rank as well as a letter grade.

Out of 67 counties, here are some local results

Seminole County Schools ranked #7 in the state and received an “A” grade overall

Brevard County Schools ranked #8 in the state and received an “A” grade overall

Orange County Schools tied with Volusia County Schools at #34 and received a “B” grade overall

Orange County in these results did drop from a previous grade of “A” to the current “B” which it had since the 2007-2008 school year.
Seminole County & Brevard County has maintained their “A” rating since the 2003-2004 school year

Overall, the highest ranking local school was in Avalon Park. Avalon Elementary ranked #7 statewide against all other Elementary schools. (view homes for sale near Avalon Park)

While some may argue, solely basing school grades and adequacy on the FCAT, I will reserve my opinion and just pass this information on for your education. {pun intended}
